Internap Opens New LA Data Center

Apparently, the boom in Southern California's technology businesses has not been overlooked by data center operators. Hosting provider Internap Network Services said this week that it will open up a new data center in Los Angeles. According to Internap, the new center is intended to address a supply shortage for Los Angeles colocation space. Internap, which is based in Atlanta, said the center is the firm's eleventh facility serving the North American market. Internap's new data cener is near the Los Angeles International Airport, and is 55,000 square feet. Internap cited "explosive growth" and demand from Los Angeles entertainment, aerospace, technology, petroleum and finance companies, which it says has outstripped limited data center supply here.
