    Internet Brands Buys Wikitravel, World66


    Los Angeles-based Internet Brands has purchased two, online community travel guides. Internet Brands said this morning that it has acquired Wikitravel, a wiki-based travel site providing worldwide travel information, and World66, a travel article site that publishes open content. Terms of the acquisitions were not disclosed. Internet Brands said that the combined reach of the sites attracted more than 2 million visits per month. A wiki is an collaborative editing site, and is best known for its use in the popular Wikipedia online encyclopedia, allowing anyone to contribute or edit content. Wikitravel provides an online, user-edited guide to world travel, and World66 also provides user-driven travel information.
