iRise Launches R&D Effort

El Segundo-based iRise, a provider of software used for visualizing applications said Wednesday that it has launched a new effort called "iRise Labs." The firm said that the lab will test ideas and launch early stage products and solution. iRise said the first offering from the lab will be a version of the firm's software, delivered via software-as-a-service. The service allows users to host applications developed with iRise's software at iRise, without requiring its customers to install hardware or server. iRise develops software which is used by companies to prototype web applications, so that they can better refine applications before starting on software coding. The firm is backed by Morgan Stanley Venture Partners and Deutsche Bank.
