Ixia Adds Online Game Simulation Testing

Calabasas-based Ixia, a provider of test tools for the networking industry, is now targeting online gaming. The firm announced this morning that it has rolled out a simulation tool to help hardware and service providers to test the effect of online gaming traffic on their hardware and networks. The new capability, part of the companny's popular IxChariot software, simulates the traffic for both first person shooter games and MMOGs. Ixia said that the new capability can simulate the traffic loads caused by many hundreds of game players using a network simultaneously.
