    Ixia Upgrades Test Systems

Calabasas-based Ixia has upgraded its network test systems, saying Monday that it has rolled out its new Optixia XM test system. The new system provides up to 144 GbE or 36 10 GbE ports in a 17.5 inch tall chassis, and is targeted at equipment vendors and service providers in the Ethernet space. The new equipment is backward compatible with the firm's existing line of test equipment, and can support existing application modules for its prior generation of chassis. Ixia said that the new system will be available in Q3 of this year. Ixia provides high performance test systems used by network equipment manufacturers and network operators.
