Jfiix, Led By JDate Founder Shapira, Takes On Modern, Jewish Dating

Joe Shapira, the founder of online Jewish dating site Jdate, said today that he is about to launch a new mobile dating app called Jfiix. According to JFiix, its new app is aimed at helping the Jewsih community, eliminating things like tedious initial questionnaires, price subscriptions, and staged photos, to help bring the convenience of modern apps like Tinder and Hinge to a more, specialized market. Shapira founded JDate and its parent, Spark Networks, way back in 1996, though an IPO an beyond. Jfiix said its app is looking to serve as a "wonderful happy medium" between JDate and today's overly broad apps like Tinder and Hinge. The company says its app will help users recognize the "extremely meaningful value of shared religious beliefs" and also helps users connect on other levels; the company said it launched services in Israel 18 months ago, and now has 200,000 members in that market.
