    JibJab Media Gets Venture Funding

Santa Monica-based JibJab Media has raised a first round of venture capital from Polaris Venture Partners. Amount of the funding was not disclosed. JibJab is known best for its presidential satire and humor, and operates its own online humor sharing community, JokeBox. The firm said that it will use the funding to extend the company's brand beyond animation into all forms of comedy programming, and build out its network. Jon Flint, Managing Partner at Polaris, will join the company's board of directors as part of the funding. JibJab's popular "This Land" and "Good to be in DC!" satires have been widely distributed online.
