Summary:

We are currently seeking an eLearning Flash/ActionScript 3 Developer.

The purpose of this position is to develop eLearning training modules and other training materials. The eLearning Graphic Developer will create game functionality, programmatic animations, navigation behaviors, and API wrappers for interactive web based training. This position reports to the Instructional Design Manager.

Languages: Flash, ActionScript 3, XML, JavaScript, CSS3, HTML5

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Major responsibilities of the position are listed below.  Other duties, assignments and specific projects may be assigned at the discretion of executive management. 

- Develop eLearning training modules from content gathered from Subject Matter Experts. 
- Test, implement, and maintain ActionScript-based components and applications. 
- Collaborate with design team to materialize creative vision. 
- Create templates to be used for training material throughout the enterprise. 
- Deliver materials within given timelines. 
- Provide new and innovative methods to deliver training material. 
- Other initiatives within the training department as needed.

Education and Experience:

- High School Diploma or equivalent required. 
- College degree preferred. 
- Strong ActionScript 3 development skills. 
- Experience operating in a SCORM-compliant LMS environment required. 
- Experience with Object Oriented Programming language required. 
- Experience in the use of Adobe Flash to create programmatic animations required. 
- Ability to handle multiple tasks required. 
- An eye for design and composition a plus. 
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications a plus.

Establish executive level relationships with all strategic accounts as appropriate. Drive account strategies and coordinate team-selling efforts to close business on a quarterly and annual basis. Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

About the Institute: 

The USC Stevens Institute is a university-wide resource in the office of the Provost whose mission is to help USC innovators make maximum impact with their ideas. Life sciences research at USC continues to grow dramatically.  This growth is fueled by a marked increase in research funding (including a Clinical and Translational Science Award of $58 million, one of the largest in the country); the recent acquisition of two hospitals; and an important initiative of USCÂs new President to bring additional world class, transformational scientists to USC who will lead new research initiatives.  The growth in life sciences discoveries and inventions will provide the underlying science and technology base for new products and companies in diagnostics, therapeutics, and medical devices.

The Technology Advancement &#38; Licensing team manages patenting, technology advancement, marketing and licensing activity for university-developed innovations. The Technology Advancement &#38; Licensing team also works closely with the USC Stevens InstituteÂs New Ventures team, which has developed and coordinates numerous resources on and off campus to assist with the development of startup companies and enhance the translation of university research generally. For example, the InstituteÂs signature ÂIdeas EmpoweredÂ program and the recently launched Coulter translational research partnership are important tools for technology advancement efforts. These programs provide mentoring, programmatic support, and gap funding to ideas that are close to spinning out of USC. 

Responsibilities: 

In this position you will play an important role in developing a high impact portfolio of USC Life Science innovators, intellectual property, and licenses, and creating a marketplace between breakthrough ideas, business, investment. 

Specifically, you will;                                                                                                               
Â	Work closely with USC researchers to identify high impact inventions, create strong intellectual property, and identify research path for advancing the technology towards commercial application.  Coach and mentor USC researchers on the technology commercialization process, intellectual property, and related issues.
Â	Identify potential commercial applications and business partners for university inventions. Market university inventions through multiple channels to prospects capable of bringing the inventions to market. 
Â	Negotiate and close win-win business arrangements with licensees and other collaborators.
Â	Manage a portfolio of university inventions. 
Â	Develop and engage a community of companies, investors, entrepreneurs, and other industry experts in the life science and healthcare industries.   
Â	Work with the New Ventures team to identify and support startup opportunities. 
Â	Provide excellent customer service to USC researchers and collaborators.

Required Qualifications:

The TSE will primarily be responsible for post-sales activity, supporting all post-sales efforts worldwide. This position will be office based with occasional travel.
