Kingston, U3 Partner on USB Drives

Fountain Valley-based Kingston Technology and U3 have announced that the two companies will work together to incorporate U3's technology into Kingston's DataTraveler line of USB flash drives. Kingston will use U3's technology to create smart USB drives which incorporate security and application launching capability, rather than acting just as simple disk drives. U3's technology includes a development suite, application programming interface, and a web site for people to download U3-certified applications. U3, which is a joint venture of SanDisk and M-Systems, is creating technology for creating portable applications.
