Kodak, Barco Ramp Up Digital Cinema Efforts

Eastman Kodak and Barco announced yesterday that the two companies are ramping up their efforts to create solutions for the digital cinema market. The two companies have formed a strategic alliance to provide products, systems, and services for digital cinema. Barco is a developer of high-quality, high-resolution digital cinema projection systems. The companies will sell and provide support for a complete integrated digital cinema solution using technology from both companies, and will include collaboration on future systems. The move comes as movie theaters are just starting to test the waters for digital cinema. Kodak's existing cinema business is focused on digital pre-show projection of entertainment and advertising.
