Irvine-based nuclear waste management technology provider Kurion said today that it has signed on a new partner, Perma-Fix Environmental Services, a provider of nuclear and mixed waste management. Kurion said that Perma-Fix will deploy its GeoMelt In-Container Vitrification technology, in such areas as nuclear power plants, and other nuclear waste streams. Financial details of the deal were not annoucned by the companies. Kurion is developing a number of technologies around nuclear waste cleanup and disposal. The company is venture backed by Lux Capital Management, Firelake Capital Management, and Acadia Woods Partners.
