Los Angeles-based Virtual Greats, a provider of licensed, virtual goods for online and mobile games, has been acquired by fellow virtual goods company Iconicfuture, the two announced this week. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Virtual Greats distributed a range of virtual goods linked with brands, celebrities, TV shows, films, and other sources. According to Iconicfuture, it will use the deal to quickly expand its portfolio of licensed rights. Iconicfuture is based in Germany. Virtual Greats says it managed the virtual goods rights for Snoop Dogg, Universal Films, Warner Brothers Television, Domo, and Skechers; the company was founded by Reuben Steiger, Christian Lassonde and Dan Jansen, and says it had raised $3.5M in funding from Omnicom and others.
