Language Weaver Adds Engineering Management, Staff
Los Angeles-based language translation tools firm Language Weaver said this week that it has hired Dr. Amir Izadpanah to as Senior Director of Engineering. Izadpanah will lead the company's engineering operations. The company said that it has recently added six new R&D employees to its team to bolster its product development. Izadpanah joins from Oracle, and has also served at Macneal-Schwendler and NASA Langley Research Center. He also was an adjunct professor at UCLA. Language Weaver is developing machine translation tools that utilize statistical translation techniques to better translate languages such as Arabic and Chinese. The company's technology is being used by government agencies and commercial entities. Language Weaver is backed by a number of investors including In-Q-Tel, the Central Intelligence Agency's (CIA) venture capital arm.
