San Diego-based optical networking firm LightPointe has introduced a new product to its lineup. The firm's new FlightExpress 100 is designed for connecting two or more buildings within 200 meters or less, and delivers Fast Ethernet performance over a free-space optical transmission system. LightPointe's products are used for connecting campus buildings and LANs without wiring, using free space optics technology.
