Lindows No More, Long Live Linspire
San Diego-based Linspire (www.linspire.com) announced that it has officially ceased using the name Lindows in all of its marketing collateral, web site, and retail packaging. The name change is the direct result of a worldwide settlement between the company and Microsoft in a trademark infringement case, where the two agreed to settle all claims in exchange for cash and license to certain Microsoft Windows components. linspire said that it has fully transitioned all of its materials and web sites to the new name.
