    Linksys, Vonage In Equipment Deal

Irvine-based Linksys (www.linksys.com) announced that it is in a deal with Voice over IP (VoIP) provider Vonage (www.vonage.com) to provide equipment for home and small businesses. Vonage is offering Linksys phone adapters and broadband routers as part of its service now, and will add Wireless-G support in the near future. The Linksys devices are stand alone devices which provide standard telephone jacks and connect to high speed DSL connections, making it easier for businesses to use VoIP services. Vonage is immediately bundling the devices as part of its IP-based phone services. Linksys is a division of Cisco Systems.
