Linksys Acquires KiSS Technology For $61M

Cisco's Irvine-based Linksys division has acquired Denmark-based KiSS Technology A/S, in a deal that expands Linksys into networked entertainment devices. The deal is worth $61M in cash and stock. KiSS is a developer of networked DVD players and networked DVD recorders, which Cisco said it would integrate into Linksys, continue to sell KiSS's existing products in Europe, and over time will develop a suite of targeted products based on KiSS technology for the world market. Cisco said that all KiSS employees will be integrated into Linksys.
