    Linksys Ships VoIP Phones

Irvine-based Linksys has shipped two, new Voice-over-IP (VoIP) phones, saying yesterday that the phones are the first of a new line of wireless IP telephony products from the company. Linksys, which is a division of Cisco Systems, said that its WIP300 and WIP330 phones are designed to make low-cost voice over IP calls through 802.11g wireless networks. The phones utilize the SIP v2 standard to connect into wireless networks, integrate with hotspots, and support both 802.11b and 802.11g standards. The phones are available for $219.99 for the WIP300 and $369.99 for the WIP330. Linksys said additional products will be launched in the second half of the year.
