    Linspire Ships Newest Desktop Linux Version


    San Diego-based Linspire announced yesterday that it has shipped the latest version of its desktop Linux package, Linspire Five-0. The Linspire-packaged version of the open source operating system continues to target the home, business, and school desktop Linux user, and according to the company adds an improved user interface, better laptop compatibility, and additional applications. The newest release is based on the 2.6.10 Linux kernel. Linspire combines various open source packages based on the Linux operating system, and markets the packaged system at the desktop operating system market.
