Local.com Relaunches Site, Brand
Irvine-based Local.com, the provider of online local business search sites, said this morning that it is in a big relaunch of the firm's flagship site. According to the firm, it has reorganized its site to divide its site into vertical categories, particularly focused on the "household manager/soccer mom" category. Among the big changes to the site is a new focus on coupon deals, which highlights deals from local companies; new content and articles; weekly circulars and grocery store ads; and a number of social tools. Local.com said the changes are a "massive improvement" over the firm's prior sites. The firm has also changed its logo and branding. The update is a big change from the firm's prior layout and organization, which had been strongly oriented around a traditional, search box for businesses in a specific location. The new design is far more content rich and social.
