Local Investors Queue Up For QuorumLabs
A number of investors with strong ties to Southern California have invested in a Silicon Valley firm developing business continuity appliances, QuorumLabs, as part of a $5.3M Series A funding for the firm. According to Quorum, it raised the funding from a group of insiders involved with Sandpiper Networks, Tekelec, Ixia, and Orolia, in addition to Themis Computer. Names of the insiders were not announced, however, the firm's board members include Ixia board member Laurent Asscher, Sandpiper Networks founder Andrew Swart, and Jerome Nathan, former Controller at Tekelec. Cliff Hannel, former VP of Acquisitions & Strategy at Ixia and a member of the Tech Coast Angels, is listed as the firm's VP Business Development and Marketing.
