    Luxtera Rolls Optical Interconnect Product

Carlsbad-based Luxtera announced Tuesday that it has shipped a 40 gigabit optical product, targeted at providing connectivity for Infiniband and other high speed interconnects. The new product, Blazar, is geared for use in clustered computing and datacenter applications, and permanently integrates fiber cables with optical interconnects. Luxtera said the products will begin sampling in Q4 and will be in production in 2008. Luxtera is funded by Sevin Rosen Funds, August Capital, and New Enterprise Associates.
