Luxtera Snags Trio Of Execs From Broadcom

Carlsbad-based Luxtera, the provider of CMOS chips for the photonics market, has snagged a trio of former Broadcom executives to the firm, the company said Monday. Luxtera said it named Josphe Balardeta as Vice President of Engineering, Chris Bergey as Viec President of Marketing, and Ron Horan as Vice President of Sales. All three were previously at Broadcom. Horan was a Senior Director of Sales at Broadcom, Bergey was in Broadcom's WLAN combo business, and Ballardeta also has served at AMCC, in addition to Broadcom. Luxtera is venture backed by August Capital, New Enterprise Associates, Sevin Rosen Funds and Lux Capital. The company just launched its 100Gbps optical chips in November.
