Luxtera Taps Broadcom Exec For CEO

Carlsbad-based Luxtera said this week that it has appointed Greg Young as the firm's new President and CEO. Young was most recently Vice President and General Manager of Broadcom's Ethernet Controller and High Definition Media PC Video business units. Young has also served at Intel. Young replaces Alex Dickinson, who was just appointed CEO of Carlsbad-based Helixis, a firm developing medical diagnostic products. Dickinson remains on Luxtera's board of directors. Luxtera is venture backed by New Enterprise Associates, Sevin Rosen Funds, August Capital, and Freescale Semiconductor, and develops CMOS photonic products that combine electronics with optics for high speed networking.
