mSIGNIA Looks To Secure Mobile Devices

mSIGNIA, a developer of mobile security tools, has quietly been funded by the Tech Coast Angels and Gold Hill Capital, it was revealed by the TCA last week. mSIGNIA, which is based in Irvine, apparently islooking to help manage the identity of online users, and is targeting online service providers with mobile applications. The company's founders are Paul Miller, who was previously COO of SMobile Sytsems (acquired by Juniper), and also served at Symantec, Gemalto, GTE Cybertrust, Rainbow Technologies and Printronix, and George Tuvell, co-founder of SMobile Systems, FedCal, and others. Details on the funding have not been disclosed, and the firm says on its website it is working on a "Mobile Service Management" tool which monitors and manages mobile devices and the apps running on those devices for entertainment, social and financial application providers.
