May The Force Be With You: Star Wars' BB-8 Droid, Goes On Sale For Real

In what is the first time you've been able to buy a real, working Star Wars droid, the BB-8 Droid from Star Wars is going on sale on Friday at 12:01 am, thanks to the efforts of a company out of the Disney Accelerator. According to Sphero, the company behind the Stars Wars BB-8 drone in Star Wars VII - The Force Awakens, it will begin selling its version of the BB-8 droid starting tomorrow. The robotic ball will cost $150, and offers up voice commands, a nifty "R2D2"-like ability to project hologram-like messages ("Help me, Obi-Wan!"), and more. Sphero was part of the Burbank-based Disney Accelerator, which directly resulted in the incorporation of its robotic ball technology into the new Star Wars movie. Sphero was discovered by Bob Iger when he was mentoring Sphero as part of the startup accelerator program in Burbank.
