Medsphere Raises $7.5M

Aliso Viejo-based Medsphere announced yesterday that it has raised $7.5M in Series B venture funding for its electronic health records management system. Funding came from Azure Capital Partners, with participation from existing investors Thomas Weisel Venture Partners and Wasatch Venture Fund. Larry Augustin, former Venture Partner at Azure Capital, will join the company as CEO. Medsphere's OpenVista software is used by health organizations to capture and organize patient care and administrative information, and is targeted to better patient care. The software was developed from the Department of Veteran Affair's open source VistA EHR software. More information »
