    Metapa Raises $8M For Data Warehouse Database Software


    Sherman Oaks-based Metapa has closed a Series C funding worth $8M. The new round of funding was led by Mission Ventures, EDF Ventures, and Dawntreader Ventures. Metapa is developing high performance data warehousing software based on open source components. The company said that the funding would be used for further expansion of its growing software business. Separately, the company announced that it has added Steve Millard as VP Worldwide Sales, and Gary Butler as VP of Worldwide Systems Engineering. The company did not make any comment on the loss of its prior CEO, David Powell, or its former VP of Sales, Steve Cobb.
