    Microsemi Buys Microwave Device Technology For $7.8M


    Irvine-based Microsemi Corporation, a developer of analog mixed signal integrated circuits, said Wednesday that it has agreed to acquire Microwave Device Technology Corporation (MDT), in a deal worth $7.8M in cash. Microsemi said it would acquire substantially all of the assets of MDT in the deal. MDT is based in Westford, MA. and develops GaAs microwave diodes; the products are used for alarms, motion detectors, and other sensor products. According to the company, MDT had sales of just over $7M in the past twelve months. Microsemi said that MDT's customers include Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Honeywell, John Deere, LM Ericcson, Nokia, and Fujitsu.
