MINDBODY Acquires Simplicity First, Plans R&D Expansion In India

San Luis Obispo-based MINDBODY, which develops an online, cloud-based platform used by wellness businesses to manage their scheduling, booking, and operations, has acquired Simplicity First, a software consulting firm. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. Simplicity First is based in Pune, Maharashtra, India, and provides software development, quality assurance, and project management services. According to MINDODY, Simplicity First has been a partner of the company for several years. The acquisition adds more than 50 employees to MINDBODY, which will open up a new office in Pune. MINDBODY said it expects to "rapidly increase" its recruitment efforts within India as a result of the acquisition, where it plans to add entry-level and senior engineers, in addition to management roles, all focused on expanding its R&D footprint.
