Miso Robotics Enhances Cooking Assistant

Pasadena-based Miso Robotics, which is developing robots intended to replace human labor in quick serve restaurants and commercial kitchens, has enhanced its robot line. The company said Thursday that it has added support for frying cooking tasks, in addition to receiving a number of certifications, including NSF international sanitation standards, and UL electrical safety certification. Miso Robotics said it has been piloting the frying support for its robot since July 30th in Dodger Stadium, at the Chick 'n Tots stand, producing up to eighty baskets of food per hour. Miso--which calls its robot "Flippy"--says it is using artificial intelligence for identifying and locating food and equipment, and automatically making cooking decisions in real time.
