Yahoo Acquires Musicmatch For $160M
Yahoo! and San Diego-based Musicmatch said today that they have reached a definitive agreement for Yahoo! to acquire Musicmatch. According to the companies, Yahoo will buy Musicmatch for $160M in cash. Musicmatch provides digital music management software and technology, including Musicmatch Jukebox, which allows consumers to play and download music; the Musicmatch Radio network, which offers streaming access to online music; and the Musicmatch Music Store, a song download service. Musicmatch will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Yahoo!.
