Irvine-based Archos said today that it has launched a new, ultra-thin digital music player offered in a variety of colors. The new, 3-Gigabyte Gmini XS 100 supports up to 1500 songs and Microsoft's Windows Media player. The new player weighs only 2.8 ounches, supports MP3, WMV, WMA, and protected WMA music files, and ties into Microsoft's PLayForSure digital music download services. The unit is available in black, pink, blue, or silver and is similar to Apple's highly successful iPod Mini line of digital music players.
