The Blu-ray Disc Association announced this morning that Univeral Music Group is the latest publisher to support the next generation DVD format. Universal has joined the organization as a contributing member. Universal will work with the BDA on the next generation DVD format. The Blu-ray and HD-DVD are in the midst of a format war to establish which format will be the replacement for the existing DVD format. Blu-ray is supported by Apple, Dell, Walt Disney, Twentieth Century Fox, and Sony; HD-DVD includes Paramount, Univeral, and Warner Bros.
