AMCC Appoints CFO
San Diego-based Applied Micro Circuits Corporation said that it has appointed Robert G. Gargus as SVP and CFO of the firm. Gargus was most recently CFO of Open-Silicon, and was CFO at Silicon Image. He has also served at Telcom Semiconductor and Tandem Computers. Acting CFO Jeff Blazevich will remain as VP and Controller of the firm. AMCC is a provider of silicon for the communications and storage markets.
