Digital Orchid Raises $6M
San Diego-based Digital Orchid, a developer of real-time wireless applications and mobile content platforms, said this morning that it had raised $6M in new venture funding. The company's series B was led by Shepherd Ventures, and included participation by NeoCarta Ventures. Digital Orchid said that the funds will be used to accelerate its global growth. Digital Orchid is developing technology for distributing content on cellular phones. Tim Siegel of Shepherd Ventures is joining the firm's board as part of the funding.
