Woodland Hills-bsaed United Online has acquired Opobox, the operator of an online social networking service called The Names Database. United Online said today that it will pay approximately $10M in cash for the company, and will incorporate The Names Database into its subsidiary Classmates Online. The Names Database is an online social newtorking service that connects friends, family, and classmates. United Online reports that Namesdatabase.com includes 20 million registered members and approximately 50,000 pay subscribers. Most of the Namesdatabase members are from outside the United States.
