Activision Buys Game Publisher
Santa Monica-based Activision said today that it has purchased RedOctane, a video game publisher. Terms were not disclosed. RedOctane is the publisher of Guitar Hero, a video game for the PlayStation entertainment system. Guidar Hero allows game players to be the lead guitarist of their own rock and roll band, and includes a guitar-shaped controller. RedOctane is based in Sunnyvale, California.
