Irvine-based Avamar, a provider of backup software for the enterprise market, has signed two technology partner agreements with Sun Microsystems and Hitachi Data Systems. Avamar said Tuesday that Sun has added the company as a Principal Partner in its Partner Advantage Program for ISVs. The Sun program links Avamar into better support and marketing resources from Sun. Avamar's deal with Hitachi reflects interoperability testing with Hitachi's Content Archive platform. Avamar's software provides backup and restore and disaster recovery for data.
