Yahoo Renames Music Offering, Combines Music Clients
Santa Monica-based Yahoo! Music has renamed the firm's digital music playing properties, saying Wednesday that it has renamed Yahoo! Music Engine to Yahoo! Music Jukebox, adding features from the firm's Musicmatch Jukebox and combining the two separate music clients. Yahoo said that the renaming and integration of the music applications is a move to migrate Musicmatch Jukebox users to Yahoo's preferred media player. Acquired Musicmatch in 2004 for $160M.
