Newport Beach-based Conexant Systems said this morning that it has named Craig J. Garen as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the firm's Broadband Access unit. Conexant said that Garen replaces Akram Atallah, who has left the firm to pursue other opportunities. Garen has previously served at LSI Corporation, Agere Systems, Lucent Technologies, and AT&T Microelectronics. According to Conexant, Garen will be based out of the firm's DSL Center of Excellence in Red Bank, NJ. Conexant is a manufacturer of communications and networking semiconductors.
