San Diego-based NextWave Wireless, a provider of hardware and software for the mobile market, said Thursday that it has created two new business units focused on mobile multimedia and wireless broadband. The firm said that its new NextWave Mobile Products unit will include its PacketVideo subsidiary and the company's semiconductor development group, and will be headed by James Brailean. NextWave's new Network Products unit will include its IPWireless and GO Networks subsidiaries. That unit will be headed by William Jones, who is CEO of IPWireless. NextWave purchased PacketVideo in 2005, and IPWireless and GO Networks were both acquired in 2007.
