SimpleTech Ships Bamboo Hard Drive
Santa Ana- and San Mateo-based Fabrik, a developer of storage devices and services, said Monday that the firm has shipped a hard disk drive--made out of bamboo and aluminum. The company claims the drive is an energy-efficient, "resource-conscious" and sustainable product. The SimpleTech [re]drive is an external hard drive uses bamboo as part of its external case; the firm said the bamboo is grown locally to its manufacturing facility.
