Irvine-based Broadcom has filed another lawsuit against San Diego-based Qualcomm, saying Wednesday that it has filed a complaint asserting that Qualcomm's sales and licensing practices amount to patent misuse. Broadcom is looking to have Qualcomm's patents and patent licenses as unenforceable. Broadcom said in a statement that Qualcomm's use of "exhausted" patents to control post-sale use of products in the wireless communications industry results in a double recovery of royalties for use of its patents. The filing is the latest in a running battle between Qualcomm and Broadcom over their respective patent portfolios.
