RealD, a provider of 3D projectors for movie theaters, said this morning that it has shipped a new, 3D projector targeted at the small screen. According to RealD, the new product--its RealD LP--is aimed at use in conference rooms, museum exhibits, educational uses, virtual rides, and entertainment attractions. Pricing on the new product was not disclosed, however, RealD said the new product will be available through a lease from the company's Professional division. The new product ties into existing, DLP projectors and polarizes right and left eye images, and is used along with polarized eyewear to show 3D images.
