Santa Monica-based
TrueCar, the auto pricing data firm headed by Scott Painter, announced Friday that it is looking to measure the ratings of the "hottest" vehicles from its data, with a new web service called
TrueBuzz. The firm said the new vehicle pricing prediction service will offer prediction in consumer interest in new vehicles, based on site traffic, automotive media coverage, blog postings, dealership pre-orders, and other data. The firm said it will only offer the ratings for production, and not concept cars, with predictions for six months after full retail distribution of the new vehicles.
