Mobile-XL, which provides SMS-based news and information services for customers in countries with limited or expensive Internet access, said today that it has partnered with TCT Mobile to embed its XLBrowser in a series of Alcatel handsets. Financial details of the partnership were not disclosed. According to Mobile-XL, its product and information service will be embedded in ALCATEL mobile phones managed by TCT Mobile. Mobile-XL's services are used through Africa, where its SMS-based news, sports, finance, entertainment, and other information can be access via SMS. The firm is angel backed by the Tech Coast Angels.
