KidZui Revs Kids Browser
San Diego-based KidZui, the web browser startup aiming at the children's market, said Wednesday that it has upgraded its software, launching KidZui K2. The firm, which is backed by Mission Ventures, Emergence Capital Partners, First Round Capital, Maveron, and the Scholastic Corporation, said the new K2 browser is faster and simpler to use. KidZui's browser is aimed at families who want to better control what their children are browsing online, and is aimed at kids three to twelve. The browser software is tied into a database of pre-approved websites, which have been screened by teachers and parents, and which also have been categorized into different areas focused on education and learning. The software also provides access and email reports on what kids are using online. KidZui is headed by Cliff Boro.
