Monrovia-based AeroVironment has scored an electrical vehicle win in the State of Hawaii, according to an announcement from Hawaii Lt. Governor Brian Schatz. According to the announcement, the State has selected the company to deploy up to 320, public electric vehicle charging docs statewide. The $820,000 contract comes from the Hawaii EV Ready Grants Program. The deployment will be in locations in Oaho, on the island of Hawaii, Maui, and Kauai. AeroVironment said the firm is partnering with the Hawaiian Electric Company (HECO) to design and build the charging stations at high-rise buildings, resorts, and rental car facilities. AeroVironment supplies chargers for the Nissan LEAF and other electrical vehicles.
