In one of its April Fool's jokes, search engine giant
Google has posted a job position--and accompanying YouTube
recruitment video--for a "Google Autocompleter", to predict what users are searching for on the web. In the tongue-in-cheek video, a "Google Autocompleter" says on a good day, he averages over 32,000 words per minute trying to anticipate what users are looking for on the web. Google--which has said it is in a major hiring push this year--listed the position in Mountain View. Google has operations in Santa Monica and Irvine, and recently leased space for a new office in Venice. So far, there are no listings for "Google Autocompleters" in SoCal.
